(Order Cumacea):
In female, chamber formed on ventral surface of pereon by oostegites on last (third) maxillipeds and on first three pereopod pairs. (Syn. brood pouch, marsupium) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
(Order Leptostraca):
In female, space between thoracopods and carapace in which eggs are brooded [Stachowitsch, 1992].
(Subclass Cirripedia):
In female rhizocephalan, pouch-like structure projecting from body of host; contains eggs and seminal receptacle and serves as site of attachment of male. May also refer to brood pouch of ascothoracican. (Syn. externa) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
