zone of concrescence
(Class Ostracoda):
A clear marginal band extending from the free margin to the line of concrescence, formed by a flange-like outgrowth of the outer lamella and traversed by radial pore canals. (Syn. fused zone) [Cohen, Peterson, and Maddocks, in press].
